The Zip Project is an organic approach to oyster reef restoration. By utilizing biodegradable and plastic-free materials, we are able to provide oysters with a safe and natural way to grow. The benefits from this include improved water quality and clarity, protection from predators and storms, and creates a habitat for other marine species.

The Zip Project is named after Betsy's grandfather, John "Zip" Stewart. He introduced Betsy to the world of aquaculture and oysters. His hobby was growing and harvesting oysters and he loved spending every second at his beach house in New Smyrna Beach, FL. This project is named in his honor and I hope this project carries on his love for the ocean.
